And now it’s time to pay a little respect to our social media ancestors with a great song from Aussie whiz kid Talkshow Boy

All the M-G contestants seem to know everything about twitter, tumblr, dopplr, etc etc. But do they know where it all came from? Livejournal, of course! And then Friendster. And soon MySpace will join the ranks of dusty old social networking platforms that have pretty much evaporated from the American consciousness and exist in very different niche markets (Currently, most of Friendster’s traffic comes from the Philippines, and Livejournal’s big in Russia).
