From Williamsburg to Healdsburg

Monday July 13, 2009

This weekend was unbelievable, and sort of bittersweet.

It really had me thinking about the trip coming up and a potential move to Sonoma County.  It is, from everything I’ve heard, a very foreign place where there aren’t many fixed gear bikes, where I doubt I’ll be seeing any shows by bands names “Fucked Up” and “Ponytail,” and most importantly, where the people move a fraction of the New York City pace of 1000 miles per hour.

I’ve spent the last five years fighting to keep up with everybody, and now, when I I’ve finally hit my stride, it seems ludicrous to go somewhere where it’s all about slowing down (however the itinerary for this weekend looks as if I won’t even have a second to breathe).

If I get the job, I still haven’t decided if I am going to spend the 6 months trying to bring the clip of NYC to Healdsburg, or actually try and let Healdsburg slow me down.

I'll miss this if I move to Sonoma: on Twitpic
